Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hasher Al Maktoum, the Autocar Awards recognised the best vehicles on the road during 2005. The awards were decided by a combination of votes submitted by both the public and an independent panel of international motoring judges consisting of motoring journalists, motor racing officials, industry professionals and racing drivers from across the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
With a 1.8L i-VTEC engine roaring with power, ergonomic Multiplex cockpit, and sleek one-motion form, the 2006 year model of the Honda Civic is as powerful on the inside as it is stylish on the outside, with highly advanced innovative coupe-like styling.
Apart from the award for the Civic, Honda was also nominated at the Awards Ceremony for the 'Best Medium Car' category for the Honda Accord, which is a stylish, sophisticated and exciting high-performance sports sedan, with a powerful iVTEC engine, combined with state-of-the-art safety and comfort features. Also nominated in the 'Best Small SUV' category was the Honda CRV, a bold and powerful 4x4 with a 2.4L iVTEC engine, improved interior space and luggage capacity, bringing together driving pleasure and family practicalities.
'Trading Enterprises is absolutely delighted that the Honda Civic has won the 'Best Small Car' category award at the Autocar Awards. It reaffirms the Civic's position as a powerful, stylish and sporty sedan,'
said Guy Edmunds, Honda Sales & Marketing Manager at Trading Enterprises. He added: 'It is also a great thrill to have had the Honda Accord and Honda CRV nominated in their categories. They are both exceptional vehicles.'
